Patrick Long, 26, the only American racing driver on Porsche’s factory team, made his debut as a UPS Porsche Junior factory driver in Germany’s Porsche Carrera Cup in 2003.  Born in California, Long began racing karts at eight and moved to Europe at 17 to pursue a career that included a Constructor’s Cup Formula-A championship in 1998.  He was selected as one of the six finalists in the Red Bull Formula One Driver Search program in 2002, attracting the attention of Porsche’s Uwe Brettel and Helmut Greiner.   In 2005, driving with Jörg Bergmeister and Sascha Maassen in a GT2 911, Long won his first 24 Hours of Le Mans in his rookie appearance at the French classic.  Together with Bergmeister, Long won the American Le Mans Series GT2 championship in 2005.  This season he teams with Maassen at the wheel of the #6 Penske Racing RS Spyder.  A card-carrying PCA member, Long lives in Bellair, Florida.
